Have you ever tried having a board room meeting smack bang in the middle of your steel pipe manufacturing floor? That’s effectively what our client was having to work with before they approached us for some advice on what sort of industrial soundproofing could allow them to conduct their meetings in peace.
It was so bad that the company were having to ask manufacturing to temporarily pause production, whilst the meeting takes place, which is not ideal.
After a site survey, a design was put forward to acoustically soundproof the external facade of the internal building with a 50kg/m2 decoupled system. This alone would have left weak spots where the viewing panes onto the manufacturing floor were, but as the perfect tonic we manufactured and installed some acoustic secondary glazing, which put the icing on the cake. This board room is now comparatively silent and perfectly fit for purpose.
