  • Create acoustically sound work spaces
  • Improve employee comfort and reduce sickness
  • Improve staff productivity and boost revenue

Creating quieter, warmer environments makes sound business sense.

Soundproofing is both a science and an art. It takes years of experience to understand how a combination of just the right materials, systems and techniques combine to provide the very best results in commercial settings, which come with a very different set of noise reduction and acoustic needs to those in homes. City Insulation has that experience: we have been designing and installing soundproofing systems for commercial premises for over 10 years.

We create environments conducive to doing good business in, and meeting the needs of the people that use public facilities – for example for teachers and pupils, healthcare practitioners and patients. Here are just a few ways in which City Insulation can bring peace and quiet to your commercial premises.

Here are just a few ways we can bring peace and quiet to your commercial premises.

Soundproofing windows and doors

Windows and doors are common points of sound transmission.
In places and spaces where privacy or peace and quiet is of importance, these areas should be bolstered. Soundproof windows are constructed with multiple panes, laminated glass, and air gaps to minimise sound transfer. Sealing gaps around doors with acoustic perimeter and drop seals and using solid-core doors can also help reduce noise infiltration.

Acoustic panels, tiles, stretched fabrics and screens.

Acoustic panels, tiles or stretched fabric over an absorbent core, are designed to soak up sound waves and reduce echo and reverberation in commercial spaces. They are typically made of sound-absorbing materials, such as foam, fiberglass, felt or perforated wood, and can be installed on walls, ceilings, or even as freestanding partitions.

Soundproofing partitions

Open plan office layouts can be noisy and benefit from soundproof partitions, which create separate workspaces and help to reduce noise transmission. Glass partitions are often replaced by more substantial acoustic partitions. If a softer partition is required, then something like an acoustic screen can be installed.

Soundproofing ceiling treatments

Suspended ceiling systems can be enhanced with soundproofing materials to reduce noise coming into or going out of a room. Adding acoustic tiles, baffles, or clouds to the ceiling can absorb sound and minimise noise reflections.

Soundproofing floor coverings

Floor coverings, such as carpets, rugs, or cork underlayment, can help absorb impact noise and reduce footfall sounds in commercial spaces. They provide a layer of sound insulation between the floor surface and the underlying structure.

Noise barriers and sound isolation

Installing noise barriers, such as walls or partitions made of dense materials including Tecsound, cement fibre board and acoustic plasterboard, to name just a few, can reduce sound transmission between different areas of a commercial space. Sound isolation techniques, such as decoupling walls or using specialist decoupling clips, prevents noise and vibrations from transferring from adjoining spaces.

City Insulation takes a thorough, comprehensive approach to evaluating your workplace premises. No two jobs are the same, and we create sustainable, environmentally-friendly solutions that offer value for money in fully meeting your needs. Let City Insulation bring a sense of calm into your commercial premises.

I can't praise City Insulation enough they are very professional, informative, courteous and they certainly know their stuff. They completed our lounge and dining room soundproofing in two days, which was completed with great care and respect to our home and furnishings (thanks to a great installation team). Do yourself a favour and choose City Insulation, it's no surprise that they get regular 5 star ratings.

Adam & Rachel were professional, knowledgeable and genuine people to deal with. I knew nothing about sound proofing but they talked me through all my options to help me understand the best options for my particular wall. They were also really helpful on suggesting work that fitted within my budget, there were other more expensive options but they recommended the best package for me that would have the most impact not just the most expensive. The sound proofing they installed on my party wall to reduce noise from neighbours (screaming children, overly loud tv, shouting etc..) has been game... changing. Since being completed me and my partner can now sit and have a conversation without having to put music or tv on in background to drown out the neighbour noise. The work was very professional, the finishes excellent and all the lads took real care to protect existing furniture, carpets etc... The work was completed in a very professional manner and attention to detail was fantastic. Some firms do their bit and leave but they even arranged for other tradesmen to help complete the redecoration work after they had left i.e. plasterer, plumber (to re-mount a radiator) whose work was also of an equally excellent standard. I would highly recommend city insulation to anyone wanting to work with a truly professional business whose end product does exactly what it says on the tin! Thank you Adam & Rachel you were a pleasure to deal with.read more

I recently used City Insulation to help with soundproofing my semi-detached house. I could hear my neighbours TV, door slamming and arguments, to the extent that I felt like I lived with them! City Insulation installed their ‘Independent Wall plus both upgrades’ system on every adjoining wall to my neighbours and the results have been great! The noise has been reduced by around 80% in the three rooms and I no longer feel the intrusion from next door. I knew nothing about soundproofing before the job was done, and City are not local to where I live so it was a bit of a’ leap of faith’.... However, Rachel has been fantastic in responding to all my queries, Adam was really knowledgable about getting the right solution for me and the installation team (Nick, Jack and Brad) were so efficient in getting the work done and to a really high standard. Thank you team for all your help - it’s really appreciated!read more
