The Problem

Carla Lane Animals In Need were in a position where they had to satisfy local council planning on soundproofing and acoustically treating the 10 outside kennel runs. The kennels themselves sat in the Lancashire countryside with very little houses around them, but stringent rules around noise breakout were administered to the organisation, which led to them getting in touch with City Insulation.

The Solution

After a site survey, a design was put forward to acoustically soundproof the external facade of the board room with a 50kg/m2 decoupled system. This alone would have left weak spots where the viewing panes onto the manufacturing floor were, but as the perfect tonic we manufactured and installed 3 acoustic secondary glazed units, which put the icing on the cake. This board room is now comparatively silent and perfectly fit for purpose.
